Sometimes, a little really can go a long way.
For only $5, five soups made from scratch by Goutêr, will find their way to our most vulnerable, the homeless, and you will receive an entry into a raffle to win a GIANT chocolate Easter bunny, handmade by Goutêr weighing 5.5lbs! (retail value $250).

Goutêr and Seeds of Hope have partnered this Easter season to help the homeless while bringing chocolate joy to entrants. Goutêr opened its first location five years ago following up with a second midtown location, both with a commitment to helping the community.
“We always try to figure out how to donate any excess…seeing the fruit of your labor, just to be thrown out. It really hurts”, remarked Bianca Mazzi, Owner of Goutêr.
Last year, Goutêr tried unsuccessfully to donate their excess but were met with roadblocks. Many food banks insist all donations be individually packaged and non-perishable, only accepting shelf-stable items. Bianca saw an Instagram post by Toronto Chef and Seeds of Hope hunter and gatherer, Joanna Sable and a partnership and friendship took root!
Through Seeds of Hope, a privately run foundation, dedicated to providing “places of hope and belonging for those at a crossroads in their lives” Bianca has ensured that nothing goes to waste, “we fill up her (Joanna’s) car with bread, some pastries, some cakes, quiche, whatever we can”.
We left Goutêr reflecting on Joanna and Bianca’s creative collaboration and thinking how we could help! Their dedication to reducing waste and commitment to helping the most vulnerable while getting into the Easter chocolate spirit is inspiring! They urge others in the food industry to get involved. It’s a win all around! Try this Goutêr recipe with your day old breads or croissants.
