This is my absolute favourite banana bread. It's full of flavour, moist and chocolatey. The best thing about this banana bread is that there is absolutely NO sugar, butter or oil! You may be feeling a bit skeptical but trust me it doesn't even need it. Baking the bananas in the oven acts as a butter and sugar replacement. The banana gets very sweet and creamy.
This banana bread is also gluten-free as it's made with almond flour. I love baking with almond flour because it's low-carb and gives the banana bread a nutty flavour.
Prep Time Cook Time Total Time
30 mins 50 mins 1 hour 20 mins
Ingredients:
3 bananas
3 eggs
3 tbs almond milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2.5 cups almond flour
1.5-2tsp tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 350 F
2. Line a loaf pan or an 8 ½ x 4 ½ inch loaf pan with parchment paper and spray with non-stick spray.
3. Put your bananas in the oven until black. Keep the peel on. This should take about 15-20 minutes. Take out of the oven and let them cool for 10 minutes.
4. In a large bowl mash the bananas. Add the eggs, almond milk, vanilla extract and combine.
5. Add almond flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Mix until combined.
6. Add half the chocolate chips.
7. Pour your batter in the loaf pan. Smooth the batter and add the remaining chocolate chips on top. This way it's extra chocolatey!
8. Bake for 45-50 minutes. Take out of the oven and cool for 10 minutes.
Enjoy!
